Last weekend, my tire got punctured, so I brought it to a vulcanizing shop.
I expected the usual: remove the tire from the rim, use the tire changer machine, patch it from the inside, and wait.
But this time, they didn’t do any of that.
They used a 𝐩𝐥𝐮𝐠 𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐢𝐫 𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐝 — inserted a rubber strip with adhesive straight into the hole. Done in minutes!
No rim removal. No machine.
I was surprised.
Apparently, this method 𝒉𝒂𝒔 𝒃𝒆𝒆𝒏 𝒂𝒓𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒅 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒚𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒔…
I just never knew.
But this experience made me reflect:
How many things in our business are we still doing the hard way… just because that’s how it’s always been done?
How many systems, habits, or workflows do we assume are essential — when in fact, there’s 𝐚𝐥𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲 𝐚 𝐟𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫, 𝐬𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐫 𝐰𝐚𝐲?
As entrepreneurs, we need to be constantly curious.
Because the 𝐦𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐰𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐩 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐰𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐟𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐛𝐞𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐝.
Sometimes, the shortcut already exists. We just haven’t seen it yet.
